Discord In Childhood Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDDC

Outside the house an ash tree hung its terrible whipsA
And at night when the wind arose the lash of the treeB
Shrieked and slashed the wind as a ship'sA
Weird rigging in a storm shrieks hideouslyB
-
Within the house two voices arose in anger a slender lashC
Whistling delirious rage and the dreadful soundD
Of a thick lash booming and bruising until it drownedD
The other voice in a silence of blood 'neath the noise of the ashC
