Town Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCA DEDE CDFD GHIG AHJK LMFL NAFN

LONDONA
Used to wear her lights splendidlyB
Flinging her shawl fringe over the RiverC
Tassels in abandonA
-
And up in the skyD
A two eyed clock like an owlE
Solemnly used to approve chime chimingD
Approval goggle eyed fowlE
-
There are no gleams on the RiverC
No goggling clockD
No sound from St Stephen'sF
No lamp fringed frockD
-
InsteadG
Darkness and skin wrappedH
Fleet hurrying limbsI
Soft footed deadG
-
LondonA
Original wolf wrappedH
In pelts of wolves all her luminousJ
Garments goneK
-
London with hairL
Like a forest darkness like a marshM
Of rushes ere the RomansF
Broke in her lairL
-
It is wellN
That London lair of suddenA
Male and female darknessesF
Has broken her spellN
