Parliament Hill In The Evening Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

The houses fade in a melt of mistA
Blotching the thick soiled airB
With reddish places that still resistA
The Night's slow careB
-
The hopeless wintry twilight fadesC
The city corrodes out of sightD
As the body corrodes when death invadesC
That citadel of delightD
-
Now verdigris smoulderings softly spreadE
Through the shroud of the town as slowF
Night lights hither and thither shedE
Their ghastly glowF
