Palimpsest Of Twilight Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB BCBC DBDB

Darkness comes out of the earthA
And swallows dip into the pallor of the westB
From the hay comes the clamour of children's mirthA
Wanes the old palimpsestB
-
The night stock oozes scentB
And a moon blue moth goes flittering byC
All that the worldly day has meantB
Wastes like a lieC
-
The children have forsaken their playD
A single star in a veil of lightB
Glimmers litter of dayD
Is gone from sightB
