Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDF GHGHIJIJ KLKLMNMO CPAPJKJK QQRBRB

That bright chimeric beastA
Conceived yet never bornB
Save in the poet's breastC
The white flanked unicornB
Never may be shakenD
From his solitudeE
Never may be takenD
In any earthly woodF
-
That bird forever featheredG
Of its new self the sireH
After aeons weatheredG
Reincarnate by fireH
Falcon may not nor eagleI
Swerve from his eyrieJ
Nor any crumb inveigleI
Down to an earthly treeJ
-
That fish of the dread regimeK
Invented to becomeL
The fable and the dreamK
Of the Lord's aquariumL
Leviathan the jointedM
Harpoon was never wroughtN
By which the Lord's anointedM
Will suffer to be caughtO
-
Bird of the deathless breastC
Fish of the frantic finP
That bright chimeric beastA
Flashing the argent skinP
If beasts like these you'd harryJ
Plumb then the poet's dreamK
Make it your aviaryJ
Make it your wood and streamK
-
There only shall the swishQ
Be heard of the regal fishQ
There like a golden knifeR
Dart the feet of the unicornB
And there death brought to lifeR
The dead bird be rebornB
