Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGF

Locked arm in arm they cross the wayA
The black boy and the whiteB
The golden splendor of the dayA
The sable pride of nightB
-
From lowered blinds the dark folk stareC
And here the fair folk talkD
Indignant that these two should dareC
In unison to walkD
-
Oblivious to look and wordE
They pass and see no wonderF
That lightning brilliant as a swordG
Should blaze the path of thunderF
