Incident Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEF AEGE

Once riding in old BaltimoreA
Heart filled head filled with gleeB
I saw a BaltimoreanC
Keep looking straight at meB
-
Now I was eight and very smallD
And he was no whit biggerE
And so I smiled but he poked outF
His tongue and called me 'Nigger '-
-
I saw the whole of BaltimoreA
From May until DecemberE
Of all the things that happened thereG
That's all that I rememberE
