Trojans Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACD EEE BFGH IJKLM NOPE

Our efforts are those of the unfortunateA
our efforts are like those of the TrojansB
Somewhat we succeed somewhatA
we regain confidence and we startC
to have courage and high hopesD
-
But something always happens and stops usE
Achilles in the trench before usE
emerges and with loud cries terrifies usE
-
Our efforts are like those of the TrojansB
We believe that with resolution and daringF
we will alter the blows of destinyG
and we stand outside to do battleH
-
But when the great crisis comesI
our daring and our resolution vanishJ
our soul is agitated paralyzedK
and we run around the wallsL
seeking to save ourselves in flightM
-
Nevertheless our fall is certain AboveN
on the walls the mourning has already begunO
The memories and the sentiments of our days weepP
Bitterly Priam and Hecuba weep for usE
