Tomb Of Evrion Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFFFGHIJ

In this tomb ornately designedA
the whole of syenite stoneB
covered by so many violets so many liliesC
lies handsome EvrionB
an Alexandrian twenty five years oldD
On his father's side he was of old Macedonian stockE
on his mother's side descended from a line of magistratesF
He studied philosophy with AristokleitosF
rhetoric with Paros and at ThebesF
the sacred scriptures He wrote a historyG
of the province of Arsinoites That at least will surviveH
But we've lost what was really precious his formI
like a vision of ApolloJ
