Thermopylae Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGBHB ICJE

Honour to those who in their livesA
are committed and guard their ThermopylaeB
Never stirring from dutyC
just and upright in all their deedsD
but with pity and compassion tooE
generous whenever they are rich and whenF
they are poor again a little generousG
again helping as much as they are ableB
always speaking the truthH
but without rancor for those who lieB
-
And they merit greater honorI
when the foresee and many do foreseeC
that Ephialtes will finally appearJ
and in the end the Medes will go throughE
