The Twenty-fifth Year Of His Life Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMDNOPQJH RPS

He goes regularly to the tavernaA
where they'd met the previous monthB
He made inquiries but they weren't able to tell himC
anythingD
From what they said he gathered the person he'd metE
was someone completely unknownF
one of the many unknown and shady young typesG
who dropped in thereH
But he still goes to the taverna regularly at nightI
and sits there gazing toward the doorwayJ
gazing toward the doorway until he's worn outK
Maybe he'll walk in Tonight maybe he'll turn upL
He does this for nearly three weeksM
His mind's sick with longingD
The kisses are there on his mouthN
His flesh all of it suffers from endless desireO
the feel of that other body is on hisP
he wants to be joined with it againQ
Of course he tries not to give himself awayJ
But sometimes he almost doesn't careH
Besides he knows what he's exposing himself toR
he's come to accept it quite possibly this life of hisP
will land him in a devastating scandalS
