Since Nine O'clock Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE BAAFGAHIJ AKLMN OO

Half past twelve Time has gone by quicklyA
since nine o'clock when I lit the lampB
and sat down here I've been sitting without readingC
without speaking Completely alone in the houseD
whom could I talk toE
-
Since nine o'clock when I lit the lampB
the shade of my young bodyA
has come to haunt me to remind meA
of shut scented roomsF
of past sensual pleasure what daring pleasureG
And it's also brought back to meA
streets now unrecognizableH
bustling night clubs now closedI
theatres and cafes no longer hereJ
-
The shade of my young bodyA
also brought back the things that make us sadK
family grief separationsL
the feelings of my own people feelingsM
of the dead so little acknowledgedN
-
Half past twelve How the time has gone byO
Half past twelve How the years have gone byO
