September, 1903 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEDFCGHC

At least let me now deceive myself with illusionsA
so as not to feel my empty lifeB
And yet I came so close so many timesC
And yet how paralyzed I was how cowardlyD
why did I keep my lips sealedE
while my empty life wept inside meD
my desires wore robes of mourningF
To have been so close so many timesC
to those sensual eyes those lipsG
to that body I dreamed of lovedH
so close so many timesC
