Sculptor Of Tyana Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHDCIIJECKCLCA MKNCC

As you'll have heard I'm no beginnerA
I've handled a lot of stone in my timeB
and in my own country Tyana I'm really quite famousC
Actually a number of senators hereD
have also commissioned works of mineE
Let me show youF
a few of them Notice this RheaG
reverential all fortitude most primitiveH
Notice Pompey And Marius hereD
and Paulus Aemilius and Scipio AfricanusC
The likeness as close as I could make itI
And Patroklos I still have to touch him up a bitI
Near those pieces of yellowish marble thereJ
stands KaisarionE
And for some time now I've been busyC
working on a Poseidon I'm studyingK
his horses in particular how to shape them exactlyC
They have to be made so lightL
that it's clear their bodies their legsC
aren't touching the earth but galloping over waterA
But here's my favourite workM
created with the most care and feelingK
This one it was a hot summer dayN
and my mind rose to ideal thingsC
this one came to me in a vision this young HermesC
