Outside The House Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDA AAEFGH IBAA

Walking yesterday in an outlying neighbourhoodA
I went by the houseB
I used to go to when I was very youngC
There Eros with his wonderful powerD
laid hold of my bodyA
-
And yesterdayA
when I walked down the old roadA
shops pavement stonesE
walls and balconies and windowsF
all were suddenly made beautiful by the spell of loveG
there was nothing ugly left thereH
-
And as I stood staring at the doorI
stood lingering outside the houseB
my whole being radiatedA
the sensual passion stored up inside meA
