One Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDE FGHIJK

The room was penurious and commonA
Hidden over a disreputable tavernB
The alley could be seen from the windowC
Unclean and narrow From belowC
Came the voices of a few workmenD
Who were playing cards and having a good timeE
-
There on the vulgar on the humble bedF
I had the body of love I had the lipsG
The sensuous the rosy lips of wineH
Rosy with such a wine that even nowI
Here as I write after so many yearsJ
In my solitary house I am drunk againK
