In The Harbor Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLM

Emis young twenty eightA
reached this Syrian harbor in a Tenian shipB
his plan to learn the incense tradeC
But ill during the voyageD
he died as soon as he was put ashoreE
His burial the poorest possible took place hereF
A few hours before dying he whispered somethingG
about 'home' about 'very old parents 'H
But nobody he called homeI
in the great pan Hellenic worldJ
Better that way because as it isK
though he lies buried in this harborL
his parents will always have the hope he's still aliveM
