In The Evening Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFG HCIJK CLMN

It wouldn't have lasted long anywayA
years of experience make that clearB
But Fate did put an end to it a bit abruptlyC
It was soon over that wonderful lifeD
Yet how strong the scents wereE
what a magnificent bed we lay inF
what pleasures we gave our bodiesG
-
An echo from my days of indulgenceH
an echo from those days came back to meC
something from the fire of the young life we sharedI
I picked up a letter againJ
read it over and over till the light fadedK
-
Then sad I went out on to the balconyC
went out to change my thoughts at least by seeingL
something of this city I loveM
a little movement in the streets in the shopsN
