In Alexandria, 31 B.c. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJ

From his village near the outskirts of townA
still dust covered from the journey inB
the peddler arrives And Incense GumC
The best olive oil Perfume for your hairD
he hawks through the streets But with all the hubbubE
the music the parades who can hear himF
The crowd shoves him drags him along knocks him aroundG
And when he asks now totally confused What's going on hereH
someone tosses him too the huge palace lieI
that Antony is winning in GreeceJ
