Senlin, A Biography: Part 02: His Futile Preoccupations - 01 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGHIHAJFJKLML NOPOQFLFRSHS

I am a house says Senlin locked and darkenedA
Sealed from the sun with wall and door and blindB
Summon me loudly and you'll hear slow footstepsC
Ring far and faint in the galleries of my mindB
You'll hear soft steps on an old and dusty stairwayD
Peer darkly through some corner of a paneE
You'll see me with a faint light coming slowlyF
Pausing above some gallery of the brainE
I am a city In the blue light of eveningG
Wind wanders among my streets and makes them fairH
I am a room of rock a maiden dancesI
Lifting her hands tossing her golden hairH
She combs her hair the room of rock is darkenedA
She extends herself in me and I am sleepJ
It is my pride that starlight is above meF
I dream amid waves of air my walls are deepJ
I am a door before me roils the darknessK
Behind me ring clear waves of sound and lightL
Stand in the shadowy street outside and listenM
The crying of violins assails the nightL
My walls are deep but the cries of music pierce themN
They shake with the sound of drums yet it is strangeO
That I should know so little what means this musicP
Hearing it always within me change and changeO
Knock on the door and you shall have an answerQ
Open the heavy walls to set me freeF
And blow a horn to call me into the sunlightL
And startled then what a strange thing you will seeF
Nuns murderers and drunkards saints and sinnersR
Lover and dancing girl and sage and clownS
Will laugh upon you and you will find me nowhereH
I am a room a house a street a townS
