Improvisations: Light And Snow: 10 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFGHIJAAJKLMNO

It is night time and cold and snow is fallingA
And no wind grieves the wallsB
In the small world of light around the arc lampC
A swarm of snowflakes falls and fallsB
The street grows silent The last stranger passesD
The sound of his feet in the snow is indistinctE
What forgotten sadness is it on a night like thisF
Takes possession of my heartG
Why do I think of a camellia tree in a southern gardenH
With pink blossoms among dark leavesI
Standing surprised in the snowJ
Why do I think of springA
The snowflakes helplessly veeringA
Fall silently past my windowJ
They come from darkness and enter darknessK
What is it in my heart is surprised and bewilderedL
Like that camellia treeM
Beautiful still in its glittering anguishN
And spring so far awayO
