Violet Moore And Bert Moore Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDDEEFFGGHHIIJ JDDD

He thinks her little feet should passA
Where dandelions star thickly grassA
Her hands should lift in sunlit airB
Sea wind should tangle up her hairB
Green leaves he says have never heardC
A sweeter ragtime mockingbirdC
Nor has the moon man ever seenD
Or man in the spotlight leering greenD
Such a beguiling smiling queenD
Her eyes he says are stars at duskE
Her mouth as sweet as red rose muskE
And when she dances his young heart swellsF
With flutes and viols and silver bellsF
His brain is dizzy his senses swimG
When she slants her ragtime eyes at himG
Moonlight shadows he bids her seeH
Move no more silently than sheH
It was this way he says she cameI
Into his cold heart bearing flameI
And now that his heart is all on fireJ
Will she refuse his heart's desireJ
And O has the Moon Man ever seenD
Or the spotlight devil leering greenD
A sweeter shadow upon a screenD
