Duval's Birds Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGCHIJDK

The parrot screeching flew out into the darknessA
Circled three times above the upturned facesB
With a great whir of brilliant outspread wingsC
And then returned to stagger on her fingerD
She bowed and smiled eliciting applauseE
The property man hated her dirty birdsF
But it had taken years yes years to train themG
To shoulder flags strike bells by tweaking stringsC
Or climb sedately little flights of stairsH
When they were stubborn she tapped them with a wandI
And her eyes glittered a little under the eyebrowsJ
The red one flapped and flapped on a swinging wireD
The little white ones winked round yellow eyesK
