and barns and of a bowl of eggs | J |
and lying across the piano | K |
the silver stick of a flute everything | A |

invented and imagined | L |
everything whispered and sung | M |
all silenced by cold rain | N |

The sky is the color of gravestones | O |
The rain tastes like salt and rises | P |
in the streets like a ruinous tide | Q |
We spoke of millions of billions of years | R |
We talked and talked | S |

Then a drop of rain fell | T |
into the sound hole of the guitar another | U |
