After Us Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEAFG HIJKA LMN OPQRS TUVAW

I don't know if we're in the beginningA
or in the final stageB
Tomas Transtr ouml merC
-
Rain is falling through the roofD
And all that prospered under the sunE
the books that opened in the morningA
and closed at night and all dayF
turned their pages to the lightG
-
the sketches of boats and strong forearmsH
and clever faces and of fieldsI
and barns and of a bowl of eggsJ
and lying across the pianoK
the silver stick of a flute everythingA
-
invented and imaginedL
everything whispered and sungM
all silenced by cold rainN
-
The sky is the color of gravestonesO
The rain tastes like salt and risesP
in the streets like a ruinous tideQ
We spoke of millions of billions of yearsR
We talked and talkedS
-
Then a drop of rain fellT
into the sound hole of the guitar anotherU
onto the unmade bed And after usV
the rain will cease or it will go on fallingA
even upon itselfW
