Thirst Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFGFHH

My spirit wails for water water nowA
My tongue is aching dry my throat is hotB
For water fresh rain shaken from a boughA
Or dawn dews heavy in some leafy spotB
My hungry body's burning for a swimC
In sunlit water where the air is coolD
As in Trout Valley where upon a limbC
The golden finch sings sweetly to the poolD
Oh water water when the night is doneE
When day steals gray white through the windowpaneF
Clear silver water when I wake aloneG
All impotent of parts of fevered brainF
Pure water from a forest fountain firstH
To wash me cleanse me and to quench my thirstH
