Ye Shall Return Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJKL MNOP QRST

Ye who have dwelt in palacesA
Opulent and decayed and loneB
Upon oblivion's closer shoreC
But in some daemon stirred unrestD
-
Departing thence sojourn awhileE
By fevered fens and driven seasF
Or in the moil of towns uncleanG
And fumes of toiling titan firesH
-
Or climb the sharpened mountain hornsI
To see earth's kingdoms gleam afarJ
Litters with promise and mirageK
Beneath a mistless diamond vaultL
-
Or pausing in Mylitta's valesM
At yonic altars carved to sinN
Purchase the ancient carnal kissO
Forewritten on the lips of clayP
-
Know surely that ye shall returnQ
Into the shadow land ye leftR
And draw again your languored breathS
Where breathe the poppies of the duskT
