To The Nightshade Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBCDEFDGBHB

Sullen and sinister darkly dull of leafA
Thou rearest amid the brighter flowersB
Like a presage of evil in dreams of joyanceB
Evil of beauty thy blossomsB
And purple like the agony of DeathC
And their fruit as its livid consummationD
Such a flower art thouE
As might spring from the rotting of ancient sinF
Its unavoidable latter confessionD
Or from the corroded altar stoneG
Now merged with the blood of its victimsB
A hideous and fruitful wedlockH
In some place of sacrifice to monstrous godsB
