To George Sterling (what) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDEDED

What questioners have met the gaze of TimeA
Whose searchless eyes unyielding theirs deniedB
Till sank the casual monarch's baseless prideB
And transitory fames of sword or rhymeA
What fames from gulfs monotonous shall climbA
Whose eyes ephemeral unverifiedB
Shall that enduring scrutiny abideB
As men that face the noontide sun sublimeA
-
One after one the searchers stare and fallC
Abased before its unabated scornD
But this thy fame in days eventualE
'Mid ruins desolate shall stand unwornD
Confronting Time in vastness musicalE
Like Memnon's statue staring at the mornD
