To George Sterling (his) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECFE

His song shall waken the dull sleeping throngA
That dreams of sullen and of earth bound thingsB
He soars with Beauty where the Eternal singsB
And the Deep's insuperable chants prolongA
The everlasting sovereignties of SongA
Where caverned thunder from the mountains flingsB
Its dirge o'er the dust of crumbled thrones and kingsB
He stands defiant of Oblivion's wrongA
-
But ampler Liberty divine and strangeC
Hums in the song of his Promethean lyreD
An echo of lost Time's immortal onesE
The tangled webs of mortal Death and ChangeC
Perish before his chanting lyric fireF
That gleams in the paling light of sinking sunsE
