The Wind And The Moon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDDCEFGEHH IJJIKKLMNNLE

Oh list to the wind of the night oh harkA
How it shrieks as it goes on its hurrying questB
Forever its voice is a voice of the darkA
Forever its voice is a voice of unrestB
Oh list to the pines as they shiver and swayC
'Neath the ceaseless beat of its myriad wingsD
How they moan and they sob like living thingsD
That cry in the darkness for light and dayC
Now bend they low as the wind mounts higherE
And ite eerie voice comes piercinglyF
Like the plaint of humanity's miseryG
And its burden of vain desireE
Now to a sad tense whisper it failsH
Then wildly and madly it raves and it wailsH
-
Oh the night is filled with its sob and its shriekI
Its weird and its restless yearning cryJ
As it races adown the darkened skyJ
With scurry of broken clouds that seekI
Borne on the wings of the hastening windK
A place of rest that they never can findK
And around the face of the moon they clingL
Its fugitive face to veil they aspireM
But ever and ever it peereth outN
Rending the cloud ranks that hem it aboutN
And it seemeth a lost and phantom thingL
Like a phantom of dead desireE
