The Thralls Of Circe Climb Parnassus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBC DEED FGG HFH

Between the mountain meadow and the pinesA
In one still wave the flowered azaleas clombB
A billow laced and crested with pale foamB
Unscattered by the balsam bearing windsC
-
High rearing on their miry haunches whereD
Some grassy bottomed tarn had sunk and diedE
A black hog and his mate stood side by sideE
Sniffing those elfin blossoms cool and fairD
-
Straying in new found freedom hungry stillF
They had gone forth beneath the immaculate skyG
Through fir set fells beyond their broken styG
-
And lofty valleys wild and aspen grownH
As those who haply seek for husks and swillF
Amid the flowers upon Parnassus blownH
