The Sphinx Of The Infinite Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEAEFGAAHIJA

The mystery beyond all mysteriesA
Of which involves the lesser in itselfB
At night the shadows Many a flaming sunC
Before the Sphinx whose eyes are firmamentsA
With all the constellations hath availedD
As might the lonely fen light to illumeE
The abyss whereon it hovers All the worldsA
Where Life a dreamer in the night of TimeE
Sees an eternal dawn upon the darkF
Which is the curtain of impending sleepG
Have not resolved the riddle of its silenceA
And falter at the last The very godsA
From out their alien gloom or light unknownH
Lift eyes of mighty question and are muteI
While all the reflex of the empty gulfJ
Makes live the flaming mirror of their gazeA
