The Song Of A Comet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBACBDEEBDAFAFFFBD DBAAGAGGBFFAB HBHFFFFFFADFADFFIDIA GGADDADAJAJAAKFAIF

Pale plummet of the stark immensitiesA
From perished heavens cast I fall and flareB
Through gulfs by stellar orbits girdled roundC
And spaces bareB
Of sparkless night between the galaxiesA
By path of sun nor circling planet boundC
No star allots my lone and cyclic gyreB
I mark the systems vanish one by oneD
Among the swarming worlds I lungeE
And sudden plungeE
Close to the zones of solar fireB
Or ' mid the mighty wrack of stars undoneD
Flash and with momentary raysA
Compel the dark to yieldF
Their aimless forms whose once far potent blazeA
In ashes chill is now inurnedF
Upon the shadowy heavens half revealedF
I show their planets turnedF
Whose strange ephemeraeB
On adamantine tablets deeply writtenD
In cities long unlittenD
Have left their historyB
And lore beyond redemption or surmiseA
Adown contiguous skiesA
I pass the thickening brumeG
Of systems yet unshaped that hang immenseA
Along mysterious shores of gloomG
Or see unimplicated in their doomG
The final and disastrous gyreB
Of blinded suns that meetF
And from their mingled heatF
And battle clouds intenseA
Overspread the deep with fireB
-
Upon the Lion's trackH
Or far beyond the abysms of the LyreB
I thread through mazes of the zodiacH
Mine orbit placed amidF
The multiple and irised stars or hidF
Unsolved and intricateF
In many a planet swinging sun's estateF
At times I steal in solitary flightF
Along the rim of the exterior nightF
That rounds the universeA
And then returnD
Past outer footholds of sidereal lightF
To see the systems gather and disperseA
And learnD
What vast and multifarious marvels waitF
In the dim void that has no ultimateF
What wraiths of suns extinguished long agoI
On alien welkins burnD
What flaming blossoms growI
From the black battlefields of cosmic warsA
What stellar hells or ampler spheres sublimeG
Enisled in diverse timeG
Are wrought from sharded moons and meteorsA
And haply I discernD
What paler fires to mine own self akinD
Still haunt the night's eternal corridorsA
Or in the toils of great Arcturus spinD
Then restless still I riseA
Through vaults of mightier gloom to watch the darkJ
Snatch at the flame of failing sunsA
Or markJ
That midden of the stagnant nadir skiesA
Where many a fated orbit runsA
An arrow sped from some forgotten bowK
Through change of firmaments and systems sentF
And finding bourn nor barsA
I fly nor knowI
For what remoter mark my flight is meantF
