The Power Of Eld Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAAAAA ACADAA

Beneath my dome of sleep secure immersedA
And filled of peace such blinded power of scathB
As Samson once employed was loosed in wrathB
And tumult with tempestuous arm dispersedA
The pillared silence came a wind accurstA
That shuddering as from hidden peril fledA
A sign and then the Past's uncharneled dreadA
In swarming visions on the darkness burstA
-
Betrayed by Sleep unto the might of EldA
I knew the terror of its kings the fearC
Of thrones abased by some resistless floodA
Howlings of prophets mingled in mine earD
With death lament of cities far beheldA
'Neath drenching flame that made the night as bloodA
