The Last Goddess Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDECDBEFFGHFIHGII

A FragmentA
-
To laud the loves of oldB
I sought for splendors fabulous and farC
The curls of one were black Circean petalsD
Of poppies blown by nightE
In the sad gardens of a sinful starC
Her eyes were mystic metalsD
Wrought with a secret toldB
By lost archangels in their flightE
To women of the worlds that strayF
On the red verges of the nether dayF
Her voice was like a lulling music blownG
At sunset from an isle of spellsH
Across a lake of rosy nenupharF
And yet thereinI
Betimes I caught the chill and crystal bellsH
That grieved and grieved aloneG
Above the fallen dinI
Of cities drowsed with revelry and sinI
