The Incubus Of Time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDEC FGAAFG

Ill days and dolorous nights and years accurstA
The increase of evil that is twin to lifeB
Weariness of re animated strifeB
And love renewing with the selfsame thirstA
The same delight a drunken TantalusC
And the thousand chorded monotones of painD
Irresolubly played and played againE
On broken souls and bodies ruinousC
-
I would the world and all its leaden woeF
Its ennui like incumbent tombs of stoneG
And time's each minute as an iron clodA
Were bound about the monstrous throat of GodA
And He were drawn in deathless overthrowF
To some blind nadir of the voids unknownG
