The mysteries of your former dust	A
Your lives declined from solar light	B
These would you know or these surmise	C
Beneath a swathed and mummied sun	D
Descend where dayless dials rust	A
Where the void hourglass fills with night	B
And seeing with still living eyes	C
Dim Acherontic rivers run	D

Follow where shrouded barges float	E
And fall in regions of the dead	F
Into the sable foaming depths	G
Then over ghostland mountains go	H
To find beyond a bridgeless moat	E
What stairs with shadow carpeted	I
Crumble behind the climber's steps	J
In some foreknown forlorn chateau	H

Where exile ghosts of gales that blew	K
At eve from vintages antique	L
Still stir the blurring tapestries	M
And empty armor guards the rooms	N
By rotting portraits that were you	K
Pass on From airless cupboards bleak	L
Startle memorial spiceries	N
And plagues adrowse in attared glooms	N

By oriels charged with stifled stains	N
With night blent purples gules embrowned	H
And spring's lost verdure graver now	O
Than cypress at the set of day	H
Pause and look forth no ghost remains	N
Save you to gaze on that dim ground	H
Where once the budding almond bough	O
Waved and the oleander spray	H

Hoar silence is the seneschal	K
Of court and keep of niche and coigne	O
With drumless ear no lute annoys	N
Nor clang from farring jambarts drawn	O
Death with dlulled arrasses for pall	K
Waits whitely there and none will join	O
Your quest nor ever any voice	N
Speak from the chambered epochs gone	O

Till from the vaults with shadows brimmed	H
Shall come a cowled lampadephore	H
holding his lamp by no breath blown	O
To mirrors moony clear and still	K
Where never living face is limned	H
But wan reflections fixed of yore	H
Long mouldered shapes that were your own	O
Graven in glass unchanged and chill	K
