Sonnet (how) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGGHow shall our hearts those fragile shrines of thee | A |
Forefend the siege of wrackful circumstance | B |
Or this thy brittle earth wrought beauty be | A |
The unshaken ultimate fortress of romance | B |
How shall the Golden Age thy bosom brings | C |
That home of dreams unharbored otherwhere | D |
Not fall before this brazen press of things | C |
Till we too fade like morning phantoms there | D |
How shall one rose from out our seasons done | E |
Rear to the rune of any necromant | F |
When all is over let the cindered sun | E |
Go down in night no memory shall haunt | F |
Yes let full fountained Lethe rise and flow | G |
As on the loves of lovers long ago | G |
