Shadows Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCABDDEAAAFFGDGHAH AIIJJFFDAADF

Thy shadow falls on the fountA
On the fount with the marble wallB
And in alien time and spaceC
On the towns of a doom d raceC
The shadows of glaciers mountA
And patchouli shadows crawlB
On the mottling of boas that baskD
In the fire of a moon fantasqueD
And the light shades of bambooE
Flutter and ruffle and liftA
In the silver dawn they siftA
On the meadows of XanaduA
They shall fall till the light be doneF
By moon and cresset and sunF
From gnomon and fir tree and throneG
And the vine caught monoliths leaningD
In the woods of a world far flownG
They shall pass on the dim star dialsH
By the peoples of Pluto wroughtA
They shall follow the shifted vialsH
Of a sorceress of FomalhautA
They shall move on the primal plainsI
In the broken thunder and rainsI
They shall haply reel and soarJ
Where the red volcanoes roarJ
From the peaks of a blackening sunF
They shall haply float and runF
From the tails of the lyre birds preeningD
On the palms of a magic meadA
And their mystery none shall readA
And none shall have known their meaningD
Ere night and the shadows are oneF
