In rock-bound Arabia
Grows the myrrh and cassia
Lost altars burned to Alilat,
And spices that
The phoenix gathered for his pyre.
Laurel-leaves and laurel-blooms,
Dreams, and blood, and flowers
Dropped by Hermes-footed hours,
Feed the fire
Wherein my love consumes
On the mount of stone, and springs
Renewed with young auroral wings.
