Memnon At Midnight Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCCCD

Methought upon the tomb encumbered shoreA
I stood of Egypt's lone monarchal streamB
And saw immortal Memnon throned supremeB
In gloom as of that Memphian night of yoreA
Fold upon fold purpureal he woreA
Beneath the star borne canopy extremeB
Carven of silence and colossal dreamB
Where waters flowed like sleep forevermoreA
-
Lo in the darkness thick with dust of yearsC
How many a ghostly god around his throneD
With thronging wings that were forgotten FamesC
Stood ere the dawn restore to ancient earsC
The long withholden thunder of their namesC
And music stilled to monumental stoneD
