Laus Mortis Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAACBA DAAD EE

The imperishable phantoms Love and FameA
Nor Beauty burning on the mist and mireB
A fugitive uncapturable fireC
Nor God that is a darkness and a nameA
Not these not these my choric dreams acclaimA
But Death the last and ultimate desireC
Great Death I praise with litany and lyreB
And somber prayer implacably the sameA
-
O incommunicable hope that liesD
Deep in despair as tapers that illumeA
Some fearful fane's arcanic sacred gloomA
O solace of all weary hearts and wiseD
-
The dream which Satan hath for anodyneE
Which is to God a sweet and secret wineE
