Ineffability Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CCCC DEED

Thy deepest dolor shalt thou tellA
But nevermore thy happinessB
Unworded still and utterlessB
The incredible dark raptures dwellA
-
Too readily our lips repineC
For splendor lost and beauty flownC
Our speech is made of earthly moanC
And not the praise of things divineC
-
Ah facile are the songs we singD
To dulcimers that sorrows muteE
But joy requires a stronger luteE
Of high unshatterable stringD
