High Surf : Monterey Bay Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFGE

Like fins of numberless white sharks the foamA
Cleaves the blue wrinkled surface of the bayB
And on the cliffs the massive combers buildC
Fragile ephemeral lattices of sprayB
-
This was the bay the slant browed fishers sailedD
In boats of raddled reeds and this shall beE
The shrunken salt thick water seined by noneF
When the last sun a red and rusty hingeG
Torn from the sky lets down eternityE
