Epitaph For The Earth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFBGHIJKBBLBMN OPBQBRBS

Somewhere in Space the disunited dustA
That formed a visible comparted worldB
Floats in unnoticed formlessness nor marsC
With stain of fleck the ethereal claritudeB
Of vacancy nor with its monads drivenD
Separate irrelevant athwart the sunsE
Impedes the tangled multidudinous passageF
Of rays that cross each other like the thrustB
Of unrelenting swordsG
The tombs that toothH
With granite mouths successive glut of LifeI
At last are not distinguished from the lipsJ
Of earlier crumbled earth And man himselfK
An evanescent peak of foam that pointedB
One wave subsided now of matter's tideB
Leaves but bequest of stories that he tookL
From forms long antecedent that were notB
As he that shall not thus combine againM
In all the future sequences of ChangeN
-
With hope of some far off supernal goalO
Changeless and independent of the yearsP
He strove on low and shifting ways and sentB
Commissioned dreams ethereal wing'd beforeQ
On summits that achievement's laggard feetB
Scarcely approached till on one lesser peakR
He knew his own futility at lastB
Himself an immaterial trick of ChanceS
