Dissonance Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDEECD

The harsh brief sob of broken horns the soundA
Of hammers on some clanging sepulcherB
Lutes in a thunder storm a dulcimerB
By sudden drums and clamoring bugles drownedA
Crackle of pearls and gritting rubies groundA
Beneath an iron heel the heavy whirrB
Of battle wheels a hungry leopard's purrB
And sigh of swords withdrawing from the woundA
-
All all are in they dreadful fugue O lifeC
Thy dark malign and monstrous music spunD
In hell from a delirious Satan's dreamE
O dissonance primordial and supremeE
The moan the thunder evermore at strifeC
Beneath the unheeding silence of the sunD
