Desert Dweller Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABA BCB CDC DED EFE FGF GHG HIH HJH J

There is no room in any town he saidA
To house the towering hugeness of my dreamB
It straitens me to sleep in any bedA
-
Whose foot is nearer than the night's extremeB
There is too much of solitude in crowdsC
For one who has been where constellations teemB
-
Where boulders meet with boulders and the cloudsC
And hills convene who has talked at eveningD
With mountains clad in many colored shroudsC
-
Men pity me for the scant gold I bringD
Unguessed within my heart the solar glareE
On monstrous gems that lit my journeyingD
-
They deem the desert flowerless and bareE
Who have not seen above their heads unfoldF
The vast inverted lotus of blue airE
-
Nor know what Flanging Gardens I beholdF
With half shut eyes between the earth and moonG
In topless iridescent tiers unrolledF
-
For them the planted fields their veriest boonG
For me the verdure of inviolate grassH
In far mirages vanishing at noonG
-
For them the mellowed strings the strident brassH
The cry of love the clangor of great hornsI
The thunder burdened ways where thousands passH
-
For me the silence welling from dark urnsH
From fountains past the utmost world and sonJ
To overflow some day the desert bournsH
-
And take the sounding cities one by oneJ
