Decadence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EEF GGF

By some strange antepast I have consumedA
In a former star foregone the fruits of thisB
And frost and dust commingle in the kissB
Of love with my forsaken self entombedA
-
Quenched as of night and Lethe the great fireC
Wherewith to lordlier suns my spirit burnedD
Bequeathes but ashes long and long inurnedD
To feed the darkling altars of desireC
-
O soul not all the further stars might fillE
Nor any god constrain your stubborn willE
Nor silence this your mouth with heaven's wineF
-
How wearily how humbly shall you craveG
From the low Earth an everlasting graveG
And from the dust its ancient anodyneF
