| Of earth at rest and peace as fall the sere | B |
| And withered autumn leaves But from of old | A |
| Hath not the tree new leaves put forth So may | D |
| The soul fresh forms assume another day | D |
| Thus testifies the miracle of spring | E |
| Wherewith the leafless brumal world is rife | F |
| Who can the bare earth's time of blossoming | E |
| Behold and say Death is the end of Life | F |
