Cleopatra Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBBBBDEBFGBHBEECBB HIJKA

Thy beauty is the warmth and languor of an orient autumnA
Caressing all the sensesB
With light from skies of heavy azureC
With perfume from blossoms large as thuriblesB
That hang in the berylline dusk of palmsB
With the balmy kiss of wind and wave beneath CanopusB
And the songs of exotic birdsB
That pass in vermilion flashing flight from isle to isleD
On an ocean of lazuliE
O sweetness in the inmost senseB
As of blood red fruits that have grown by the waters of LetheF
Or fragrance of purple lilies crushed in a cypress groveG
By the sleeping limbs of ErosB
Thou pervadest me with thy loveH
As the dawn pervadeth a valley among mountainsB
Or as sunset filleth the amaranth colored seaE
The desire of thy heart is upon meE
Like a summer wind from CytheraC
Where Venus lies among the tiger liliesB
By a pool whose waters arc fed from secret springsB
I inhale thy loveH
As the breath of hidden gardens of purple and scarletI
Where Circe trails a gownJ
Whose colors are the reddening gold of flameK
And the azure of the skies of autumnA
